This is a style in which patterns are bold and bright, while using a lightly colored background. Use neutral colors include fuchsia, deep purple and teals. Natural fabrics such as silk, wool, linen, and cotton are used because of their texture and inherent neutral tones. Furniture features clean lines and smooth surfaces without carving or adornment. Silhouettes are slim without being dainty. Maple and birch woods (which have minimal graining) are accented with frosted or clear glass, stainless steel, nickel and chrome.
