Freestanding range

Is our definition incomplete? Share you knowledge of freestanding ranges by using the EasyEdit button above.

These ranges stand on their own and are enclosed in a metal cabinet. They usually sit in between the base cabinets and typically have a bottom storage drawer with controls placed on the back of the unit. They are the least expensive option, but juice and crumbs can fall into the cracks between the range and the cabinets.

Many of us have used a freestanding range - is it easier to use than a drop-in range? More difficult? Which is easier to keep clean and maintain? Share by clicking the EasyEdit button.
