I have a claw foot tub which is very old. The surface feels pitted and is very difficult to clean. Does anyone know which product to use to resurface the interior finish of the tub? Has anyone actually refinished their own tub? 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

At www.KitchenBath.com, we sell many clawfoot tubs and we have heard many stories from folks dissatisfied with the results of resurfacing clawfoot tubs in the home. The epoxy based products often do not have the same high luster of porcelain and the finish often has a lot of dust particles trapped below the surface that are easily visible and can be felt. With time the area around the drain is usually the first to fail. Re-porcelainizing, involving rebaking on a new finish, is the only way to go, if you simply must save the existing tub. Buying a new tub is the easiest by far. Do you find this valuable?
